I couldn't stop listening! The guy in this story ... wowza. Amanda does such an amazing job telling the story, that you can just so clearly see the whole thing go down in your head. The manipulation ... (clenches fists and shakes them dramatically) ... it's next level.

 

Once you’ve dealt with this type of person, you can see the signs a mile away. I’m glad to not be the only one that fell for this type of person

 

I’m only half way through the story and am loving the raw emotion, reflection and insight, and vulnerability put into telling your story. From knowing Amanda personally, she is through and through and empath. She feels so deeply and desires love. So many of us have been in situations where we hide the red flags and continue on through manipulation of “potential”. Her story is wild and 5⭐️ for telling it. Only few people have the courage to admit their wrongs as she does and not realizing she was in it until it was far too late.

 

Hard to listen to someone you care about go through something so heinous. Amanda is our brave soldier and host on the d.d and shares her roller coaster story battling a bear of a narcissist she ends up calling her husband. Worth a listen!

 

Girllllllll!! This has me on the edge of my seat! My jaw is to the floor for every single episode. Keep telling your truth 👏🏽

 

The whole story and set up is very intriguing and really keeps you on your toes but I can’t help but think that most of this is also on Amanda for not noticing all the things that happened before getting married and thinking it would all be fixed after getting married. At some point you have to save your peace and stop trying to keep a man that doesn’t want to be kept

 

You can’t expect someone to respect you if you don’t respect yourself. Hello!? Boundaries! Empath doesn’t equal doormat. I’m sorry, but I cannot believe how completely ignorant she is! SMH! I’m astounded that someone would continue to stay with a partner with such blaring RED FLAGS! He STEALS from her! He CHEATS on her with MEN! He LIES to her! He MANIPULATES her! Not to mention so many other behaviors that lack a moral compass. I hope other women listen to this to wake up to these RED flags that are hitting them in the face! There are no fairytales ladies! When someone shows you who they are, believe them!

 

Amanda is able to thoughtfully articulate just how truly evil someone can be. Unfortunately, she was married to him. She gives a real look into a very dysfunctional relationship and hopefully can help others not get wrapped up in the same disaster.

Her episodes are chronological and well planned out. I really enjoyed.

 

Reading other reviews on here, y’all need to be kinder! Unless you’ve walked that terrifying, dark road you truly do not understand how someone can continually be tormented and manipulated into staying with an abuser. Amanda does such a great job of articulating what it is like to survive narcissistic abuse, and calls out not only her abuser but herself out for the mistakes that she made because she believed in someone that she loved. Thank you Amanda for sharing these incredibly difficult traumas to not only try to end the stigma around survivors speaking out against their abusers, but to also aim to end the stigma against mental health and its impacts on everyday life.

 

Hindsight is always 20/20, I get it! Thank you for being so honest even though it’s so hard to reveal some of the ways we tried to be loved. They are skilled in their deceptions; no one should judge! Plus, I love all the swearing 🤣❤️!

 

This podcast really helped me to see the red flags in my current relationship. It has opened my eyes to gaslighting, avoidance, lack of trust and respect that I’ve experienced. Because of this podcast, I was able to look at my own relationship more objectively and I finally ended it. So, thank you, Amanda, for sharing your story and all of the ugly details. If your goal was to reach one person, consider me that person! I am so grateful for you for bearing your soul with the rest of us. I wish you well going forward. I truly believe you have grown and will continue to grow and heal. Thank you again for sharing your story.

 

Listening to this podcast feels like you’re hanging out with your best friend hearing some really good gossip, but Amanda is so funny but also really deep, insightful and intelligent. It’s so difficult to explore the most difficult moments in your life but she looks at it all unflinchingly and doesn’t hold back, such a courageous act. I really think it empowers all women to listen to each other’s stories and podcasts like this have the power to change society. You go girl!
