The Prequel: The Eye of the Storm

Dear Diary & Listeners,
There’s something unsettling about the way stories are told. Victims speak about their experiences. Predators speak about their victims.
When someone endures pain, betrayal, and manipulation, they share their story in an effort to heal, to be understood, to reclaim their truth. But the ones who inflicted that pain? They spend their time making sure you only hear their version of events. They rewrite history. They call their victims crazy, difficult, unstable—anything to discredit the person who knows exactly what they’ve done.
That’s why this episode is so important. Before you hear what happened to Ashley, you need to know who she is. The woman behind the story. Her background, her voice, her perspective—because understanding her as a human being is everything.
Once the truth unfolds, you’ll see why the people who try the hardest to silence victims are the ones with the most to hide.

Y'all....
Sometimes podcasting—especially when you're unpacking the darkest chapters of people’s lives—can really take a toll on you. Season 2 of The Dichotomy Diaries is locked and loaded, but let me be honest… prerecording everything, batching edits, and stepping away from the mic weekly? It messed me up more than I expected.
I thought I was being efficient. But in reality? It made it easier to disconnect. To avoid. To put it off.
So here’s my reset: Okay Hear Me Out is my way back to weekly mic time. Unfiltered, unscheduled, and a little unhinged.
Think Joe Rogan meets Theo Von—but with Midwest Feminine Energy and a lot more unpopular opinions (and maybe a little more sass).
Let’s talk. Weekly. Again.

Hey Listeners,
This episode marks the beginning of a very different season.
In Season 1, you heard me, raw and unraveling, in the thick of it. But Season 2? We're zooming out. Years have passed for Ashley—and what you're about to hear isn’t someone cracking wide open in real-time... it’s someone flipping back through the chapters, trying to make sense of a story she was too busy surviving to process.
You’ll literally hear us flipping pages—yes, actual pages—as Ashley tries to recall the timeline of how it all went down. It’s a little chaotic, sometimes blurry, but that’s the point. Trauma doesn’t always leave behind a neat trail. And when your life becomes a series of pivots you never planned for? Sometimes you need a notebook just to remember how you got here.
Ashley opens up about the shame she felt in her first major relationship—the kind of shame no one prepares you for. The kind that makes you doubt yourself. That makes you feel like something’s off, but you stay anyway. Because life is happening fast. And motherhood doesn’t come with a pause button for healing.
This is the start of Ashley’s story. And while she might not fully realize how much pain still lingers... you will.
We’re not rushing through it. We’re honoring it. One page at a time.
Thanks for being here.
